Where IndianAviation Learned to Fly
In 1928, a group of aviation enthusiasts founded a flying club on the sands besideJuhu Aerodrome — India's first civil airfield. From that strip, the club issued some of the country's earliest pilot licences and became the training ground for the pioneers of Indian aviation, including J.R.D. Tata, who earned India's first pilot's licence here in 1929.
Nearly a hundred years later, the mission hasn't changed: take people who look up at aircraft and turn them into people who fly them, fix them, and keep them airworthy.
